Working with both teams the successful applicant for the apprentice position will support the blue badge team who are responsible for the assessment and issue of blue badges and the customer relations team who manage the customer complaints procedure. Both teams are committed to supporting the welfare of disabled people and all staff joining the team are expected to share this commitment. There will also be an opportunity for the candidate to continue their training with an NVQ in customer services. About the Role We are looking for someone who is interested in a career in administration or customer services as this role will be a great opportunity to get a good start in both areas. Working within these busy teams you will be involved in the day to day tasks. You will take on a range of administrative responsibilities and be involved in various projects. Much of your time will be spent dealing with highly confidential information so we need someone with a mature outlook who understands the importance of confidentiality, as well as taking responsibility for delivering their own work to a high standard. Skilled in using computers, confident and with great written and oral communication skills you'll be able to communicate easily with others. Job Details You will be paid £11,117.60 per annum for 36 hours a week based at County Hall, Penrhyn Road, Kingston upon Thames, Surrey KT1 2DW. About the Role We're looking for someone who's passionate about starting a career in local government and keen to work in an office environment. This is a junior role that will support the work of our busy Pension team. You will contribute to the delivery of services and projects allocated and supported by the Pensions Team Leader. The right candidate should be willing to undertake a programme of work, study and training designed to develop the skills and abilities of the apprentice to achieve a level 2 or 3 Customer Service qualification.
