£11,117.60 per annum for 36 hours per week Monday to Friday based out of County Hall, Penrhyn Road, Kingston upon Thames, Surrey KT1 2DN. About the Role

This position is a 12 month fixed term contract and you will get 24 days paid annual leave. You will be fully supported and mentored through your apprenticeship and be given time, whilst at work, to complete your course work with a dedicated assessor. The scheme is designed for individuals who are living and entitled to work in England, and are not in full-time education. You'll also need three GCSEs grade A to C, or equivalent including Maths and English.

Our award winning Customer Services department is the front door for the majority of council services and working with the blue badge and customer relations teams you will be working in a busy environment which provides essential services for Surrey residents. We give information, advice and are responsible for the issue of blue badges and we deal with complaints about Surrey services.

As an apprentice to two of our teams you will support and help customers in a sensitive and courteous manner, this could be by email, letter and telephone. It will involve responding to online enquiries and could involve meeting customers face to face. You will have an important role to play, demanding excellent customer care and listening skills, experience of modern office software and a very focused and committed approach. Above all, you must be able to add real value to the service we provide, applying your empathy and flexibility when dealing with customer's confidential information so a mature attitude and attention to detail are of great importance as well as projecting a very professional image.

On top of the support and mentoring to complete an NVQ Level 2 we can offer you a varied role and a great understanding of how Customer Service's works which will help you in the future.
