Are you an aspiring IT guru looking to step up and take your career to the next level? Razor sharp attention to detail but who can see the bigger picture and think logically? One of the worlds top 20 training companies is looking for a First Line Support apprentice to join their team.

Who youll work for:

Youll work alongside an IT Manager and within the engineering team and have the opportunity to really own your responsibilities.

Youll be the first line of support for external users, reporting to the IT Director, your role will be handling incoming calls and responding to incidents from email, web chat and phone. This is a critical role responsible for being the first-line support for all employee IT requests. Youll ensure our IT needs are met efficiently with a seamless customer experience through that channel as a First Line Support apprentice.

As a First Line Support Apprentice, your job includes:

  • Installation of operating systems - manually and with imaging tools
  • Installation of software and applications onto PCs, laptops and devices.
  • Installing hardware components into PCs- RAM, Graphics cards, VGA/ DVI adapters etc.
  • Using case management tools, team working and time management.
  • Fault finding techniques.
  • Exposure to Server software 2003-2016, Active Directory
  • Remote access software administration
  • Connecting and configuration of PCs onto a desktop location.
  • Server Building
  • Effective questioning and troubleshooting
  • User Application Support

What experience and skills do I need?

You dont need loads of professional experience in IT. However, youll need at least five GCSEs (or equivalent) at Grade C or above including Maths, English and IT / Science.

Were looking for an IT-enthusiast with:

  • Great logic and solving problems
  • Organisational and communication skills
  • Experience working remotely and can work well as part of a team
  • Skills in compiling & analysing data
  • The motivation to learn and improve processes
  • Attention to detail and the ability to see the bigger picture

You might also have (but dont need):

  • Experience working in a helpdesk role
  • An approachable personality
  • Experience in HTMP and front-end development knowledge
  • A full, clean driving license
