An exciting opportunity has become available for enthusiastic and highly motivated individual to join a Cambridge-based organisation as an Apprentice Software Developer working in their cutting-edge software development team.

As an Apprentice Software Developer, you will follow a a national standard that provides the opportunity to learn the skills needed to become a Software Engineer and begin your career with world-class experience behind you. The Level 4 Software Developer Apprenticeship combines on the job training alongside academic study and a generous wage throughout the scheme, including when youre studying.

The training requires hard work and dedication but you will be highly rewarding and will equip you with the principles of software development which offers a wide spectrum of interest and is reflected in the range of software development projects they are involved in.

As well as a comprehensive training program, youll study towards a number of industry recognised qualifications including:

  • Microsoft Specialist: Programming in C#
  • Microsoft MTA Database Fundamentals
  • 's Professional Scrum Master certification

Your training will take the following format:

  • Working alongside the software development team and engineers to learn the requirements of the day to day work needed to support existing software products, specify new products and develop and test new software solutions.

What experience and skills do I need?

You dont need loads of professional experience in IT. However, youll need at least five GCSEs (or equivalent) of grades A*-C (or new grading of 4-9) including Maths, English and IT / Science.

Your Accelerated training programme:

During your 16 month programme, Firebrand provides residential training at our distraction-free training centre. Our accelerated training means you'll achieve certifications with partners like, ITIL and Microsoft faster, giving you more time to put your new skills into practice within a professional working environment. You'll also be recognised by the British Computer Society (BCS) for entry onto the register of IT Technicians, confirming SFIA level 3 professional competence.
