The Requirement

Due to continued expansion and customer demand, an exciting opportunity has arisen for Assessors to be appointed within our customer Education team. We would be interested to hear from candidates who has already got recognised Assessor qualifications and experienced delivering or assessing IT apprenticeships up to and including Level 4 (HND, HNC, Advanced and Higher Apprenticeships)

The Role

As IT Assessor you will be responsible for a caseload of 50 learners that you will visit in their place of work to carry out assessments, monitor and review progress, giving the learners advice and guidance, setting targets and offering 1-2-1 support throughout their apprenticeship programme and/or employment. As well as getting to know the learner and their style of learning you will also be building relationships with the employer to ensure the best level of customer service at all times.

You will be travelling out to colleges across your assigned region.

Day to Day Duties

* Observing and assessing an agreed caseload of learners, monitoring and assessing apprentice's development and practice
* Conducting formative and summative assessment
* Educating and developing apprentices to better understand their areas of specialism.
* Complete assessment of all competency units, covering in-centre, work placements and apprentices and work with the college(s) tutorial team to ensure all apprentices have the required skills and knowledge to successfully achieve the mandatory competency units.
* Following the guidance issued by both the Awarding Body and the College with regard to assessment practice and the completion of documentation.
* Working with the Training Provider Manager to achieve agreed volumes of learner achievement in line with the business strategy and plans, carry out high quality mentoring and coaching to apprentices to ensure competency units are completed within agreed time lines
* Supporting Internal Quality Assurer, supporting standardisation process and supporting Internal Verifiers during External Verification visits
* Undertaking staff development appropriate to the contractual requirements of the post and the needs of the section.
* Liaise with mentors and employers at all levels in the workplace
* Monitor progress, motivate and provide guidance to learners.
* Carry out record keeping and general administration relating to training and assessment.
* Support the self-assessment process and ensure that the course quality improvement plan (CIP) is implemented and monitored
